Storyline:: Boca Chica, a standout of the New Wave of Dominican Cinema, is directed by Gabriella A. Moses and written by the team behind Pelo malo. The film, which won the Nora Ephron Award at Tribeca, explores the harsh realities faced by twelve-year-old Desi in a Dominican beach town, where she dreams of becoming a singer while confronting the insidious child sex trade and societal complicity.
