BlatinX: Puerto Rico is an innovative, experiential approach to recognizing Black History Month globally. Its genesis is an initiative of the Department of Classical and Modern Languages to play a role in the Black Lives Matter Movement. The objective of this event is to illustrate the connection between communities of African ancestry beyond the borders of the United States. This unique celebration quilts together educational presentations, music, dance, cuisine, and poetry that reflect Puerto Rico’s rich communities of African heritage.
